Mine Safety Appliances Awarded $15.1 Million in Military Contracts for Ballistic Helmets

Mine Safety Appliances Co., which manufactures protective equipment, said Thursday it was awarded three contracts totaling $15.1 million to provide ballistic helmets for the U.S. military.

Duke Energy earnings fall

Power company Duke Energy Corp. posted lower fourth-quarter earnings on Tuesday due to higher settlement reserves and the impact of merger and restructuring activities.
